SummaryBot

Everything SummaryBot does for your Discord server

One bot to catch up, ask questions, track tasks, stay informed, and keep control, all without leaving Discord. Here's the full picture.

Add to DiscordFree to start. No credit card required.
Catch up

Catch up on everything you missed

Turn hundreds of messages into a clean recap in seconds. Summarize on demand or on a schedule, pull in uploaded documents, and even fold in voice calls. Every recap links straight back to the source.

On-demand summaries

Run the wizard to pick a window from 1 hour to 30 days, summarize all channels or just one, and get jump links back to the exact source messages.

/summarize

Scheduled summaries

DST-aware daily or weekly recaps, delivered automatically to a thread so your team never has to start the day cold. Or schedule a message you write yourself: posted as-is, never pings anyone, free on every plan.

/schedule create

File summarization

Upload a transcript, doc, or PDF and get an instant AI summary. No channel required, so you can summarize anything you paste in.

/filesummarize

Unified voice + text catch-up

Unique

No other Discord bot unifies voice-call and text-channel catch-up. When your server also runs NotesBot, SummaryBot folds voice-call transcripts into the same recap as your text channels: one summary for everything that happened, spoken or typed. Calls stay private with layered opt-outs, so nothing is ever shared that shouldn't be.

Ask

Ask your server anything

Stop scrolling to find that one decision. Ask a plain-English question and get an answer grounded in real messages, complete with citations and jump links, inside a thread you can keep interrogating.

Natural-language answers

Ask a question and get an answer built from your actual message history, with citations and jump links, in a persistent thread you can follow up in.

/ask

Ask about a file

Upload a document and ask specific questions about its contents. Follow-ups reuse cached context, so the conversation stays fast.

/fileask

Right-click to ask

Highlight any message, open the context menu, and choose “Ask about this message” to dig into it without typing a command.

Apps → Ask about this message

Counting questions, answered by arithmetic

“How many messages this week?” or “who posted most?” are counted from the messages themselves rather than handed to the AI, so the answer is counted, not estimated: exact over everything it read, and it costs nothing against your monthly AI budget.

Tasks

Act on what was said

Turn conversation into action. SummaryBot pulls tasks out of chat, keeps a kanban board right in Discord, and syncs with the tools your team already uses.

Built-in task board

A kanban board that lives in Discord. Add items with /todo, mark them done with /done, and open the whole board with /board. No context switching required. Turn on /autodetect and SummaryBot also spots action items in conversation and files them to the board on its own, so nothing important slips through the cracks.

/todo add/done/board/autodetect
Two-way

Two-way Trello sync

Tasks flow both directions. Create a card in Discord and it appears in Trello; move or complete it in Trello and it updates in Discord. Always in sync.

Notion sync

Push extracted tasks straight into a Notion database to keep your workspace as the single source of truth for your team.

Stay informed

Stay informed anywhere

Keep a pulse on your server without living in it. Get pinged on what matters, push summaries to the tools you already watch, and export your data in whatever format you need.

Activity alerts

Get DM'd the moment a word you care about comes up, or when a particular member or bot posts in a channel. Matches on word boundaries and de-duplicates notifications, so you're never spammed. Manage them in Discord or from the dashboard's Alerts tab.

/alert

Email digests

Scheduled email summaries delivered on your cadence, so the important stuff reaches your inbox even when you're away from Discord.

/digest

HMAC-signed webhooks

Push summaries to Slack or anything else with HMAC-signed webhook payloads you can cryptographically verify before you trust them.

/webhook add

Summary export

Download any summary as Markdown or PDF to archive it, share it, or drop it into your own docs.

/export

Export your whole server, not one channel at a time

New

Point /exportmessages at one channel and take away its CSV, or at every channel in the server and take away a ZIP holding one CSV per channel (or one combined CSV in the same ZIP, with a manifest beside it either way). Every row carries the timestamp, author, content, attachment names, the top reaction and its count, a signed engagement Weight, and the thread it came from; a forum posts-only run adds each post's total reactions and reply count, so you can rank posts by what actually landed.

Before it starts, it tells you which channels it cannot read (the ones you have no access to, and the ones that opted out), and the finished archive carries a manifest naming every channel it left out and why, so nothing goes missing quietly. Then it runs in the background: it survives a restart, picks up where it left off, shows you how far it has got, and DMs you when the file is ready, or says so in the channel if your DMs are closed. A background run walks for at most six hours, and the manifest says so if that stopped it short.

Export depth is not a plan feature. Every plan gets the full 1–365 day window, and there is no message ceiling on any of them. Past 20,000 messages the run simply moves to the background and finishes the whole window. SummaryBot DMs you the link when the file is ready, and if your DMs are closed it says so in the channel, because the file is waiting in your dashboard either way. The link is good for 7 days, and the file is deleted 30 days after the export completes. You can start the same export from the browser instead: the dashboard's Export tab shows the estimate, the progress and every finished file. Bundling the actual attachment files, rather than their names, is Enterprise and runs one channel at a time.

Control & trust

Control and trust, by design

You decide what SummaryBot can see and how it behaves. An excluded channel stays excluded wherever SummaryBot reads your history, not just in the summaries, and everything is manageable from a full web dashboard.

Privacy opt-outs

Exclude a channel and it stays out wherever SummaryBot reads your history: summaries, /ask, scheduled recaps, automatic task detection, Intelligence Reports and message exports. Exclude a whole category and every channel, thread and forum post inside it goes with it, on every one of those surfaces. A whole-server export also names every channel it left out, and why, in the manifest it ships with.

/privacy optout

98-language summaries

Generate summaries, task extraction, and answers in any of 98 languages, so your whole community gets caught up in the language they speak.

Usage transparency

See exactly how much of your monthly budget you've used, with a clear breakdown and reset date. No surprises.

One web dashboard

Overview and billing · Analytics · History · Alerts · Schedules · Reports · Layouts · Newsletter · Integrations · Webhooks · Knowledge Base · Settings · Privacy · Export.

Create and edit schedules from the web and run one now; build and read Intelligence Reports; design report layouts; run the newsletter; connect Trello, Notion and GoHighLevel; manage webhooks, your glossary and your channel opt-outs. Members can sign in too: anyone in your server can open Overview, Analytics, History and their own Alerts without admin rights.

Analyze & publish · Enterprise

Analyze & publish (Enterprise)

Enterprise unlocks Intelligence Reports: deep analysis of how your community actually behaves over time, with every theme ranked by how many people took a side and a signed Weight column showing which way they leaned. The people, message and reaction counts shown for each theme are tallied by code from the real messages; which side a message is on is the model’s reading, and the report says so.

It also shapes and publishes. Choose a report layout (the full report, Signals, or Bug triage) or build your own in the dashboard and reuse it. Recurring digests remember what they already told you: each theme carries New, Recurring, or Handled, so you read what changed instead of re-reading last week. And the same week can go out to your members as a recurring newsletter written in your own voice, delivered to Discord, to your own URL, or only as a draft in GoHighLevel.
